"We are not in charge of the healing process except to be willing, honest and earnest."

OUR MISSION

Working with clients, ultimately my job is really always the same, to be ready to listen,  willing to learn, and able share “miracles”. “Miracles” here do not refer to a phenomenal display,  but to being willing to look upon   what seems to be devastating circumstances without judgement,  thus facilitating internal correction--a change of mind about the reality of the situation.  The Course points out,  in many ways,  that we never get angry or afraid over a fact, but always over erroneous interpretations, which we take as reality.  An example of a fact might be something like, “I’ve just lost my job...” An interpretation would be something like, “...and I’ll never amount to anything...if only my boss weren’t such an asshole...”

“Psychotherapy is the only form of therapy there is.  Since only them mind can be sick, only the mind can be healed.  Only the mind is in need of healing.  This does not appear to be the case,  for them infestations of this world seem real indeed. Psychotherapy is necessary so that an individual can begin to question their reality. Sometimes he is able to start to open his mind without formal help,  but even then it is always some change in his perception of interpersonal relationships that enables him to do so. Sometimes he needs a more structured, extended relationship with an"official"  therapist.  Either way,  the ask is the same;  the patient must be helped to change his mind about the"reality" of illusions.” ACIM, Psychotherapy: Purpose, Process, and Practice This is not to be mistaken as a by-pass for dealing with every aspect of a situation.

In dealing with the situation however, miracles show us the way that is only loving. They always foster solutions which are very practical,  not theoretical or abstract. And being practical, true miracles are always communicated in a way the client does understand and can use constructively,  immediately.  They do not come from personal volition, but they come through anyone who is willing.

The power of the miracle always positively affects the giver and the receiver equally, bringing both the awareness of increasing love. By opening to miracles, our perceptions can change, and we learn to let miracles replace our resentments, grievances, and judgements. As workbook lesson #78 states: Let miracles replace all grievances.  Forgiveness and miracles go hand in hand,  serving to undo distorted perception and restore clarity once again.

“A miracle inverts perception, which was upside down before, and thus it ends the strange distortions that were manifest.  Now is perception open to truth. Now is forgiveness seen as justified.”

Miracles help us to see forgiveness is justified, because it is always for ourselves. This heals the sense of separation -- the root of all suffering --when we are willing to suspend our judgements, let truth in, and receive the happy correction.

At our invitation, real healing is the undoing of all the unconscious guilt in our minds, which gave rise to all the symptoms of sickness in the first place.
